Staatsoperette Dresden Orchestra Musicians

The Dresden State Operetta (Staatsoprette Dresden), together with its predecessors, looks back on more than 240 years of tradition as a musical popular theater in Dresden and is the only independent operetta theater in Germany. Since December 2016, the ensemble of the Dresden State Operetta has been performing in the former Kraftwerk Dresden-Mitte, an imposing industrial power plant complex dating back to the 19th century, which has since been transformed into a unique art, culture and creative location in the heart of Dresden.

Thanks to its enormous stylistic range, the Staatsoperette Dresden Orchestra is one of the most versatile orchestras in Germany. In addition to classical operetta literature, the orchestra's repertoire also includes operas and musicals.

The topic of sustainability has been well received in Dresden thanks to committed local initiatives. With our joining of Orchester des Wandels, we orchestra members wish to use arts and culture to make our contribution to sustainable thinking-and-doing. We want with the local population to propel change as a necessary but also exciting task and to initiate enthusiasm for the topic of environmental and climate protection for the young and old. In addition to the reforestation project on Madagascar, we therefore also want to support and realize local and joint climate protection and environmental projects. Furthermore, we see Orchester des Wandels Deutschland as a wonderful opportunity to network with other musicians and to develop new creative concert formats
