Climate concert and benefit concert with members of the Bochumer Symphoniker, solist Antje Weithaas and Professor Astrid Kiendler-Scharr
Antje Weithaas, one of the most renowned violinists and violin professors in the world will exhilarate and inspire every classical music fan. Together with the musicians of the Bochumer Symphoniker she will perform the Schubert Octet in F-major, one of the most important chamber music works of the 19th century. Composed for two volins, viola, cello, double bass, clarinet, horn and bassoon, the sounds of the strings and winds melt and weave together in a wonderful myriad. With its melodic richness, soulful harmonies and colours, it is a musical work of beauty which echoes with romantic Schubertian Wanderlust.
Contributing to the climate conscious evening is the well-known and respected Professor Astrid Kiendler- Scharr. She is director of the (IEK-8) Research Institute in Jülich since 2012 and was awarded the title `Professor of Excellence` by the Helmholtz community. Her speech, accompanied with graphics and underscored by music explains the importance of air quality and climate change in an exciting new format.
All participants are donating their time, energy and fees in order to raise funds for the Orchester des Wandels project in Madagascar. If climate protection, fabulous music and a connection to nature sounds good to you, join us for our innovative and diverse concert.
Free entry, donations welcome.
