Ice, Light and Snow

How does polar ice sound, and what sounds does a melting iceberg make? Composer Daniel Michael Kaiser has brought various sounds and soundscapes from his trip to the Arctic, which are used in his new composition for a chamber ensemble of the Bremen Philharmonic. A lecture with photos by the well-known photographer and World Press Photo Award winner Esther Horvath also brings the polar mood to the tobacco quarter in Bremen.
