Classical in the Tower

On September 13, 2026, to mark Open Monument Day, musicians from the Anhaltische Philharmonic performed their second Orchester des Wandels concert in the New Water Tower in Dessau—an impressive building with incredible acoustics.

The concert was held in cooperation with the Association for the Promotion and Preservation of the New Water Tower (*Verein zur Förderung und Erhaltung des Neuen Wasserturms e.V.*). The enthusiastic audience donated €469 each—an equal split—to the Water Tower Association and the "Tiny Forest" project led by the Anhalt Philharmonic’s Orchester des Wandels.

The program featured works by Handel, Telemann, Mozart, J.S. Bach, Elgar, Tchaikovsky, and Rubinstein.
