Opening Night of the GAIA Installation

Christ Church, Mainz
The Christuskirche in Mainz becomes the setting for an extraordinary art and cultural event: The world-famous installation GAIA by British artist Luke Jerram is being installed in the church. Seven meters in size, the Earth is depicted in meticulous detail beneath the church's dome using high-resolution NASA images.
Opening night will feature musical and poetic interludes from the Orchester des Wandels and poet Inga Thao My Bui.
Welcoming addresses will be given by Dean Andreas Klodt, Pastor Eva Lemaire, and Miriam Heil.
