People and Nature

January 26, 2026 8:00 p.m.
Staatstheater Braunschweig

This year's climate concert at the Staatstheater Braunschweig aims not only to draw attention to the ecological dangers of human intervention in nature, but also to highlight the beauty and fascination of individual species and to explore ways of interacting with nature differently. The musicians of the orchestra will be joined by Tanja Tetzlaff, the internationally acclaimed cellist and musical ambassador of Orchestra des Wandels e.V., performing Joseph Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 1. The orchestra also welcomes Jan and Melanie Haft, two of Germany's most renowned nature filmmakers, who will present excerpts from their award-winning television documentaries. Their presentation on the possibilities of a climate-friendly and biodiverse future and how each of us can contribute will round out the concert.

Joseph Haydn: Cello Concerto No. 1 in C major, Hob. VIIb:1

Tanja Tetzlaff, cello
