With this concert, musicians from the WDR Symphony Orchestra wish to honor St. Francis of Assisi, whose core message—respectful treatment of nature and the interconnectedness of all living beings—is more relevant today than ever. The program features quartets by J. Haydn, G. Puccini, and W. A. ​​Mozart, alongside poems and texts by St. Francis of Assisi, Ingeborg Bachmann, Emily Dickinson, Hermann Hesse, Jane Goodall, Franz Grillparzer, and Christian Morgenstern.
