Under the title NACHLANGLICHKEIT, members of the Rhenische Philharmonie and guests play a varied program with contributions from Beethoven to Joni Mitchell. After Beethoven's “Pastorale” conducted by Benjamin Shwartz, Janáček's “Mladi” will be heard in the first part of the concert. Violins open the second part with the Fugue by Dubensky, and the audience can also look forward to the sounds of harp by Alhonse Hasselmans with “La Source”. The concert ends with pieces by Joni Mitchell, Marvin Gaye, Wayne Shorter and an interpretation of Juli Gold's “From A Distance” conducted by Benjamin Shwartz, which will be familiar to many with Bette Midler performing.
Admission is free. Donations are requested for the reforestation project in Masoala National Park in Madagascar. Before the concert there will be an informational event about the Orchester des Wandels in the studio at 10:15 a.m.
