More Moorland

With the impulse concert "More Moorland," the musicians of the Staatsorchester Stuttgart aim to raise awareness and focus on the special importance of moors for climate protection through an informative lecture and music. Moors not only make an important contribution to the preservation of biodiversity, but also fulfill another function that should not be underestimated in the face of climate change: in healthy moorland plants actively take large amounts of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.

Ernest Bloch: Trois Nocturnes for piano trio
Leoš Janáček: Mládi (The Youth) for wind sextet
Ralph Vaughan Williams: Phantasy Quintet for string quintet
With a lecture by Prof. Dr. Manuel Helbig (GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences) on the importance of moorlands for climate protection.
