Music in Dialogue: Longing for Nature

June 15, 2025, 11:00 a.m.
Aalto Foyer, Philharmonie Essen

In the Essen Philharmonic's Chamber Concert VIII, entitled "Music in Dialogue: Longing for Nature," works with a thematic reference to nature, such as Darius Milhaud's "Creation of the World," meet witty poems by Essen author Jörg Hilbert (author of the children's book "Ritter Rost"), which were written especially for this concert and refer to the music.
Astor Piazzolla's "Four Seasons of Buenos Aires," Richard Strauss's voluptuous and dreamy "Moonlight Music," and Max Richter's contemporary composition "On the Nature of Daylight" complement the program. The concert will include a discussion with Dr. Klaus Kordowski of the Mercator Foundation, exploring the topic of climate protection from a practical perspective.

Featuring:

Anton Teslia, Sarah Koenen, violin
Kathrin Guerra Gonzalez, viola
Juliane Lopper, cello
Matthias Solle, double bass
Wolfram-Maria Märtig, piano
Jörg Hilbert, texts/recitation
