Changing Forests

March 21, 7:00 PM
Bavaria Music Studios, Munich

"Changing Forests" (“Wald im Wandel”)- under this motto, the Munich Symphony Orchestra (Münchner Symphoniker) will take you on a musical stroll through the forest in their third concert of the Studiosound chamber music series.

Our forests have been undergoing a transformation for some time, and climate change is making it difficult for certain tree species and their associated ecosystems to remain intact. Creating a climate-stable forest is, among other things, the responsibility of foresters. Martin Janner, Forester of the Year 2023 and author of "The Forest of the Future" (Piper Verlag), will lead this concert evening and provide exciting insights into the developments in our forests.

In addition, the augmented reality animation "Forest Change/Forest Flux" by artists Tamiko Thiel and p/live will round out the event with a visual element, alongside the musical sounds and narratives of the forest.

Program:

Robert Schumann "Forest Scenes," Op. 82 (excerpts)

Mason Bates "The Life of Birds"

Anna Sehmer, violin
Jakob Haas, cello
Julia Maier, flute
