Peter Bursch is a rock legend from North Rhine-Westphalia. For more than a quarter century “Germany’s most senior hippie” (Tagesspiegel) has been playing with his All Star Band, which interprets rock music classics to current hit songs in its unique way.

The Duisburger Philharmoniker have shared the stage with Peter Bursch’s All Star Band twice before at the Haniel Classical Music Open Air: once at the premiere in 2013 and the again at the rainy third run in 2017 in front of 3000 enthusiastic fans who bravely withstood the weather. (Where the music fans of Duisburg then qualified as “Audience of the Year”). And now a long-standing wish is to be fulfilled: The Duisburger Philharmoniker have invited the cult band to the Duisburg Theater for a collaborative concert. Directed by Patrick Chestnut, the program consists of songs that have moved the world - songs of Queen, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Beatles and more.
